  In keeping with our mission to educate customers about artisan chocolate made with fine cacao, we offer a number of public tasting events.Chocolate Happy Hour (Thursdays 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm )FREE A different theme every week, our chocolate happy hour is a great way to sample cacao and chocolate from our large collection of artisan bean-to-bar chocolate. Whether we're offering samples of bulk chocolate for baking, samples of chocolate from one micro-batch chocolate maker, or tastes of single-origin cacao beans and nibs, we guarantee our happy hour will be fun, educational and very tasty! Customer Appreciation Nights At different times during the year we like to thank our customers with a Customer Appreciation Night. Customer Appreciation Night is a fun evening of cheese and crackers and raffle drawings for free chocolate. We hold a customer appreciation night in mid-November to kick off the holiday season. We also hold them in conjunction with visits from Chocolatiers. The best way to hear about these events as we schedule them is to sign up for the Chocolopolis newsletter. Anniversary Week During the second week of July we celebrate Chocolopolis’ anniversary with a week of free chocolate tasting events. Tastings are free and open to everyone and include flights of regional chocolate, customer appreciation parties, themed pairings (e.g., chocolate and DRY Soda), and meet-the-chocolate-maker events throughout the week. Anniversary Week is your chance to win a year of free chocolate by purchasing the bar of chocolate that contains a hidden Golden Bar Ticket. Meet the Chocolate Maker/Chocolatier Whenever a chocolate maker or a Chocolatier comes to visit us, we have free tasting events that give you a chance to meet the producer and sample their chocolate. Many of the artisan chocolate makers travel far and wide to find cacao beans that meet their tough specifications. They bring back interesting stories and fantastic photos of their travels, and they talk about their chocolate making process while sharing samples of their chocolate. While we would love to schedule one of these events every month of the year, we are limited to scheduling these when we can convince a chocolate maker or a Chocolatier to come to town. Special Events In conjunction with a chocolate maker’s visit to town we sometimes offer special events that enable in-depth interaction with the chocolate maker in a more intimate setting. In the case of some of the fantastic micro-batch chocolate makers whose chocolate we carry, the fee we charge for the event goes towards covering the costs of their trip to Seattle. Many of them are barely making ends meet while pursuing their passion for chocolate, so we need to help them defray their costs to get them to Seattle. |
